Description

Part 3 of the SIRA workers compensation allied health practitioner online training program outlines effective use of the Allied Health Recovery Request and explains the requirements to treat within the NSW workers compensation system. The course involves a number or presentations (topics), some practices activities and a final assessment piece that needs to be submitted once you reach the end of your course.

OPEN UP A NEW TAB ON GOOGLE CHROME

1.       On your computer, open Chrome.  - Select the 3 dots  or 3 lines from the right-hand side of the corner of the screen
2.       Select Settings.
3.       Scroll down the page and select -  Show advanced settings.
4.       Scroll down the page and select - Under "Privacy TAB and then select - Content settings.
5.       Scroll down the page and select either "FLASH" or PLUGINS section.
6.       Select to allow  FLASHPLAYER.  - then DONE

7.       Go back to the training TAB - (Learnupon) - refresh the screen - and go back to where you left off - the training screen should then appear

PLEASE NOTE: Your assessment task must be submitted within six weeks of starting Part 3

Your assignment will be marked by a qualified assessor and you'll be provided feedback.

Objectives

At the completion of Part 3 you should be able to:

  • demonstrate an ability to effectively use the Allied Health Recovery Request to communicate with the insurer and other members of the support team 
  • set effective SMART goals and steps with the worker that focus on increasing capacity 
  • demonstrate an understanding of outcomes based treatment 
  • communicate the effectiveness of treatment through appropriate measurement 
  • explain the importance of expectation setting with the worker in empowering them to self-manage and in developing their understanding of the health benefits of work
