Description
This Skill Pod describes the skills, knowledge and outcomes required to use leadership to promote team cohesion. It includes motivating, mentoring, coaching and developing the team and forming the bridge between the management of the organisation and team members.
The Emerging Leader Skill Pod aims to develop the skills and knowledge required to:
- Interview some internal and external leaders that you admire and get their insights into what you need to be an emerging leader.
- Use a reflection journal to reflect on your experiences of being a leader.
- Demonstrate your ability to lead positive relationships in a work group environment while dealing with a number of workplace challenges affecting the way operations are carried out.
Options
You have the following choices:
- Complete this stand-alone skill pod as professional development ($190)
- Complete the stand-alone assessment only and receive a statement of attainment ($370)
- Complete stand-alone version of this skill pod and associated assessment and receive a statement of attainment ($560)
- Complete the full qualification by completing all required skill pods and associated assessments
You also have the option to complete assessment tasks and receive a Nationally Recognised statement of attainment for the unit of competency; BSBLDR413 Lead effective workplace relationships.
. You can choose to:
- enrol in the Learning and Assessment version now, getting access to both learning content and assessment tasks straight away
- complete the Learning only version now and come back and enrol in the Assessment only version at a later date
If you have extensive experience in the industry and believe you do not need to undertake any further training you can choose the Assessment only version and get access to the assessment tasks straight away, without needing to complete the learning activities.

Objectives
Throughout this Skill Pod you will explore ways to demonstrate your skills and knowledge relating to:
- Undertake preparations to lead workplace relationships via the identification of objectives, management of information and the team collaboration required to complete work tasks
- Lead workplace relationships through facilitating collaboration in the team, supporting colleagues where required, managing conflict and liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Review leadership of workplace relations by seeking feedback from stakeholders, analysing the feedback and using this to evaluate personal performance and identify areas for improvement.
